Inzilbeth is visiting down from Glasgow, and we had Hobbituk came to visit too, so we went around Skipton Castle. The last time I was there, it was August, and there was a re-enactment group there, so it was very busy. This time there was hardly anyone there, which was really nice. Hobbituk made a very good tour guide (reading off the leaflet we had been given). This was the view down the stairs into the dungeon.

Bet they didn’t have that handrail when that dungeon was in use. 😉
Neat picture, though and the history I’m seeing before my eyes.

Fantastic stonework too- I imagine they didn’t have the luxury of handrails and electric lights either in the time of dungeons and castles. Impressive!
