What does that mean? It means Fall colors are in, autumn themes are hot and (apart from the trees, it’s too early for that here) gardens are breaking out in natural spectrums giving an all around glow to the cool misty and sometimes dewy mornings which give way to warm bright afternoons. And we thought German speakers were long-winded 😉
Yesterday evening the ladies from our church gathered to ‘fill’ our hollowed out pumpkins with Autumn glory. The following pictures are some of the decorations adorning our home.
Öpfel, Birre, Nuss. Apples, pears and nuts (and some silk leaves, etc…) adorn the coffee table downstairs.
Just some ‘left over’ cut flowers from the deco evening with some garden flowers and my Hortensia flowers drying on the Kachelofen in the downstairs living room.
Lady in a pumpkin skirt with hat (or something like that 😉 ) – cool idea, using a small pumpkin scraped out and waxed inside (so it doesn’t rot), floral foam cut to fill the opening and soaked (in a bag), and then add your cut flowers and leaves of choice. Et Voilà! A lovely bit of Fall adorning the upstairs living / family room with the plus of roasted pumpkin seeds. Only the deco must be hidden a bit on a shelf so the cats don’t dismantle it 😛
Have an enjoyable weekend.
P.S. I think the numbering is a tad off. I checked on the DOY calendar so Thursday the 2nd of October is 275. Carry on 😀
P.S.S. the last post I made had a guessing picture. It was ‘ice cream’ 🙂
