335/365 Lyon Street Steps

LyonView from the top of San Francisco’s Lyon Street Steps. You can see the dome of the Palace of the Fine Arts, built for 1915 Panama-Pacific Exhibition. On the right are the houses of some seriously rich people, who reportedly include Oracle’s Larry Page and members of the Levi Strauss and Getty families. On the left is the wooded Presidio, which started in 1776 as a Spanish fortification. Most of it is now a park.

bottom steps

Here is the view up the bottom, oh, about third of the steps*. Several people were running up and down, for a serious workout. We walked down and eventually strolled up the Presidio.

* I mean, there’s three times more steps after you get to the top.
