038/365 – Old books

So, I’ve been working the stacks of our Special Collections section of the university library, preparing books for transport to another store. I’m currently working on old medical books, and someone I’m working with is doing a PhD in the use of the medical library (which is now part of the university library), so she’s been very interested in those books. I was working on my own on Friday morning, and spotted some books, so I took some photos for her. Here’s one of those books, published in 1820 and entering the Medical Library in 1822.

Wow, not that I’m a med student or anyone associated with the medical field, but I’d love to read some of those pages to see how medicine has, or has not, changed.

    Calma
